What The Heck is a "Badge" and How Do I Add One To My Blog, Website or Social Page?

Okay, so everyone seems to have these little buttons, badges and framed "announcement" that they like to add to their blog, website or social page.  Bloggers like to hand them out like candy.  They present other bloggers with badges that look a lot like awards.  Other bloggers, like one of my favorites, Bossy, made a badge to identify readers who signed up to be on her cross-country road trip.

I am on BOSSY's excellent road trip.

So, what is a badge and how do you get one?

Well, a badge is really just a piece of photo, graphic or text that has been uploaded somewhere onto a public server and often links to a web page.  See?  Not complicated.  Now some bloggers have terrific artistic skills (and very expensive graphics software) and get very, very creative with the graphic they design as their badge.  Me?  I am not so talented and I don't own expensive software. So, I enjoy using a site I found that works very well for my limited badge making requirements.

If that sounds familiar to your current skill set, then get thee over to www.hyplet.com and they will take you step-by-step on how to create a badge that is creative, informative, cute, personal and quirky badges and most importantly, they work!

Here is an example of a badge that I made in about 2 minutes:

There are avatars, business cards, social network id panels and all sorts of graphics, backgrounds, fonts and other choices that will allow you to get pretty creative without having to master complicated graphics and coding skills.

I do hope this helps one of my blog readers!  www.hyplet.com has been a great, free "web find" for me!

Until next time, be well!
